Our Middle School program challenges
the 6th through 8th
grade students to push themselves
and grow academically, spiritually
and socially. The program we build
our annual curriculum on is the
Core Knowledge Sequence,
www.coreknowledge.org. Listed
under each grade you’ll find a
detailed list along with an
introduction to our exceptional
teaching staff.
Middle school students participate
in the annual science fair in
January, with the winners sent on to
the Tri-Valley Science. We are
proud to post St. Philip students
routinely finish in the top levels
of competition.
Each year a trip to Washington DC is
completed by our 8th
grade students. While students are
responsible for the cost of their
travel, the school rallies around
them participating in fundraisers to
reduce the cost for each student.
The school day begins at 8:30 and
lasts until 3:00 pm for all grades,
including Kindergarten. Each
Wednesday, the school comes together
to worship in chapel. Classes take
turns hosting the morning, often
presenting skits or songs to teach
the message for the day. This is
also a time to celebrate student
achievements. Each quarter, honor
roll, school attendance, and church
attendance are recognized and each
student is invited to the front to
be celebrated by the student body,
parents and staff. Student council
makes announcements about upcoming
events and special happenings around
school.
